Our organic Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is a very unique and special coffee. After grinding, you'll notice the sweet fragrance of caramel. But after brewing, a spicy, peppery aroma takes over. Right off the bat, you will notice clean, bright, and slightly acidic profile with notes of berries, nuts, and wine. The finish is smooth with slight citrus and floral notes. This is the perfect coffee for tea drinkers due to its extremely clean finish.
Ethiopia is said to be the birthplace of coffee. Originating in 850 A.D., a local farmer realized the increased energy in his sheep and decided to give the beans a try. He noticed the effects, and so began the worldwide infatuation with coffee. With so many distinctly different regions in the country, each coffee is absolutely unique. Yirgacheffe is grown in the southern Sidomo region at 6,600 feet above sea level. Here, the tropical climate, mixed with moderate wet and dry seasons make this region absolutely perfect for growing this very special coffee.
